This is a place I fell in love with. This beautiful island off the northwest coast of Greece in the Ionian Sea. I sometimes booked sea passage on freighters that plied the waters of the Mediterranean. I loved it every single time. Clean, comfortable cabins. Simple square meals taken with the ship's crew. Fantastic views of port cities. Once I caught a freighter from Trieste (in Italy near Venice) and spent four days on it. It stopped in several ports in Croatia, unloading and reloading cargo. Hours for me to explore the ports. What a treat it was. Corfu specially. I spent a full week on the island when friends who came to visit from Brindisi in Italy. Outrageously great food, music, culture, scenery, and people. Add this to your list. Just do it. :o).
