Keystone Marker
Vintage roadside community marker, Washington, Washington County, Pennsylvania. This marker is unusual. It tells us that the town was named after "General" George Washington. It is one of only a few places named after Mr. Washington BEFORE he became the first president. Indeed, the town was named after the great leader before the end of the Revolutionary War, at a time when the region was still part of Virginia Colony.
