Sarasota - The Landings
The Landings is an expensive gated community in Sarasota, noted for its large trees and landscaping. There is a guard at the gate. Sometimes I deliver Meals on Wheels to someone who lives there.
The landscaping and plants of these two houses are notable, particularly the two large, silver-gray Bismarck palms. A live oak tree is on the left. It may have been planted in the 1980s, when the houses were built. There are a lot of live oaks in The Landings.
The Landings is on the mainland, and does not have a beach. This area is on the Intracoastal Waterway, across from Siesta Key, and not directly on the Gulf of Mexico.
