George Town - Tender Loading at the Dock
Getting on and off the tenders at George Town, Grand Cayman, was an adventure, both at the ship and in port. The crew had to lift you on and off the tenders, which rose and fell as much as three feet (one meter) with the waves. I was on land and photographed this tender. It was loading passengers to return to the Nieuw Amsterdam, another Holland America ship which was in George Town.
At least 10% of the passengers who came to George Town in my tender did not get off, but just returned to the ship. .
