Paris - Place Vendôme

The buildings around Place Vendôme were built around 1720. The column was erected by Napoleon to commemorate the Battle of Austerlitz (1805). The column was covered by metal from cannons captured in the battle.

 

This gives a sample of cars driven in France in 1968. I see at least two Volkswagens. I did not find any VWs in my 1960 photos.
