These birds live by the thousands and thousands on the side of the cliff. It is there they court and have their nests and lay their eggs. the babies when they hatch have very little space in which to move. Almost none so there is usually only one chick. The parents guard and protect them until they are ready to fledge. I have so much respect for these birds because living on the edge of a cliff can be brutal.
