Spectacles
Cabinet card of a young woman wearing glasses, not common at that time, by Charles H. Masters, Princeton, Illinois. Late 1880's, I think.
Charles Halady Masters was born in Bureau County, Illinois, in 1843. After being wounded in the Civil War, he returned to Princeton, where he apprenticed himself to his uncle, William Haven Masters, to learn the photographer's trade. He opened his own studio in 1869, and remained in business until his death in 1920.
