Vanessa's Modular Zombie Killing Weapon.
9 years after the zombie occupation of 90% of the landmass on Earth, what little amount of humanity that remained attempted to rebuild. However, there were far too many infected for any large-scale reconstruction. Still, there were small pockets of civilization beginning to sprout up created by the few survivors that could unite. One survivor, a young teenager who had grown up half of their life with zombies and just their father, was all by themself now. The teenager's father, who had been infected 8 years into the Z War, had taught everything he knew about zombies, survival, and military skills to his single offspring. The young professional zombie killer surprised everyone around in the surrounding area over the months after her father's death; fighting off numerous zombies, building a numerous near-indestructible safe-havens, and managing to save a few survivors were but a few of the things this young killer managed to accomplish. But this survivor was a wanderer at heart, and moved about the once beautiful country of the United States of America. A number of bandits, and there were a lot of them, under-estimated this lone survivor. Any and all who took from the weak and tried to destroy the growth of civilization would come to know this survivor's name well. Her name was Vanessa, and she was ready to kill anyone to give humans a chance.
Vanessa knew the need for many different types of weapons for various situations, but couldn't stand to give up her Father's weapon. So she created multiple ways for her one weapon to serve different roles. She limited the weapon to single fire, sawed off the stock, and shortened the barrel, among other things. And so the VMZKW was invented, using her father's M14 from his service in the American army during Vietnam. Heavily modified, of course.
