Akatsuki Sees Venus in Infrared 3

Edited Akatsuki (Planet-C) infrared image of Venus. In visible light (eg, what humans see), Venus is usually a uniform white globe (sometimes some people may see very slight variations in the shading). Because the image was taken in infrared, you can see variations in brightness.

 

I think this is the night-side of Venus. I cropped the original image - the left side was all white which is probably the day-time heat from the clouds washing out the sensor.
