Social Awareness

Winchester Cottages in Copperfield Street, Southwark were built between 1893 and 1895 as an early form of social housing. The person behind this, and other similar nearby dwellings, was Octavia Hill who was an English social reformer. Her main concern was the welfare of the inhabitants of cities, especially London.
