Comedy Giants
Once the Governor's residence of the old prison, this imposing doorway is now the main entrance to St Albans Registry Office in Hertfordshire.
My reason for taking the photo though was because this doorway also featured as the entrance to HM Prison Slade in the comedy series 'Porridge' of the 1970's starring the late, great Ronnie Barker.
