Student Trends

In the 1970s, '80s, and early 90s, students all cared about one thing; getting into university. They didn't care about creating the perfect "Smokey eye effect" or "getting the latest cell phone" or the "ipod of mp3 or mp4 that lately came out." They studied, and they studied hard. However, just a few years later, students are found with cell phones that have more functions than their parents have with theirs. They have mp3s that they carry around everywhere. When did they last read the newspaper? This representative photo was taken to portray the life of the students of 2008. It is done at an angle to cover the eyes, like Gossip Girl has with their books. Gossip Girl is a teen novel that also embodies the life of blind, spoiled children. The newspaper in this picture is on the side, untouched by the girl in the photo; instead, she chooses to have her cell phone out and her micky mouse mp3 close by. This photo represents the amount of education a student could earn at the tips of their fingers, but instead, they choose to play around with the latest fashion or trend.
