EI-ARS C-54E Skymaster
Paris-Le Bourget, August 1975. This aircraft now stands as a memorial to the Berlin Airlift at the former Rhein-Main Air Base, Frankfurt, painted into appropriate USAF markings. Note the oversized cargo door, fitted by the previous owners, Balair. This made it particularly useful for the transport of racehorses, something that Aer Turas did regularly.
Just visible in the distance at left is Concorde 001, F-WTSS, which had been retired in 1973 and was earmarked for the Musée de l'Air at LBG.
From my slide collection; photographer not known.
