Taken using a Ricoh Mirai bridge camera from 1989 and Velvia 100 reversal film.
I have owned a Mirai since 1989, this one is my third, I sold one broke one and this is the one I use now. I have always liked the Mirai it suits my way of making photographs. Its lens is of good quality and renders 3D looking immages with depth and beautiful tonal reproduction. The bokeh is creamy and subtle. Contrast is good, well controlled and not used to mask a lack of sharpness.
I can work intuitively with the Mirai. It is automated with easy control ove anything in the photograph making process should I want to do this for any subject or lighting. For reversal film the centre weighted metering delivers accurate and consitent exposures and the evaluative metereing is set up just right for negative film.
The screen is clear and bright and easily uesable for critical focusing, this camera is easy to manually focus simply by using a button on the lens barrel and the zoom control. The viewfinder has red arrows and a green confirmation light to aid focusing. The screen is normally the best focusing aid, it is bright, matched to the lens and shows clearly what is in focus.
