(RASE) Royal Agricultural Society of England - 1947 Official Staff badge

The Royal Agricultural Society of England (RASE) were founded in 1838 as the English Agricultural Society to “encourage and promote technical innovation and communicate practical knowledge of value to farmers”. The RASE were granted a Royal Charter in 1840 and in 1845 founded the Royal Agricultural College. In 1973, they also established the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. The RASE held their first Royal Show in 1839 and thereafter until these were discontinued in 2009.

 

Today, the RASE operate as a UK Registered Charity whose core roles are in the transfer of agricultural scientific knowledge, technology and best-practise to the farming industry and rural communities.

Process: Die stamped. Leather stretch fitted over metal badge. Adhesive probably used.
