(One Of The) Last Of The Mohican Cruises
The second Mohican replaced the original Mohican (1894-1907) steamboat in 1907 and continued to be steam powered until 1945. The conversion to diesel power freed up large areas on the second deck for passenger usage. A second major renovation was completed by 1967 -- the wood and canvas superstructure was replaced by steel. In this photo, we are seeing one of the last cruises of the season in the Mohican's 103rd year of operation.
