Kansas, Leavenworth, The Western Branch of the National Home for Disabled Soldiers; Department of Veterans Affairs Dwight D. Eisenhower Medical Center, Building 66- Chapel of the Veterans (West /North Elevations)

The Chapel of the Veterans was constructed in 1893 at Western Branch of the National Home for Disabled Soldiers in Leavenworth, Kansas. The facility was built to housed injured and aging veterans of the Civil War. The Gothic style inspired chapel is actually a unique blend of architectural features that incorporate both a Catholic and a Protestant chapel on two levels in the building. The chapel is the only religious related building in a complex of secular, military style buildings.

The Western Branch, National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Chapel of the Veterans is a contributing property. The facility is designated a National Historic Landmark District.
