F-101B Voodoo, U. S. Air Force (59-428), Delaware, Dover Air Force Base, Air Mobility Command Museum

The F-101 Voodoo was designed at the close of World War II as a long range penetration fighter. It was later adapted for close air support. During the Cold War era, many were deployed to interceptor squadrons to defend the United States against possible Soviet bomber attacks.

The aircraft in the photograph was ordered in 1959 and manufactured by McDonnell Aircraft. It was delivered to the U. S. Air Force in 1960. The aircraft was in service until the 1980s. In 2015, the aircraft was on display at the Air Mobility Command Museum at Dover Air Force Base.
