Hangar No. 1301 was built in 1944. During World War II the hangar was used as a secret rocket development site. During the 1950s through 1970s, the hangar was used by various fighter squadrons at Dover Air Force Base. After a period of inactivity, the hangar was renovated to house the Air Mobility Command Museum. Hangar No. 1301 is on the National Register of Historic Places.
