RTL 1427 Maidstone 1-7-79
A long standing preservatrion piece is RT10 bodied RTL 1427. This body was a "fit-all" version of the the early RT3 body, demonstarted by the fact that as well as fitting RTs, they fitted RTLs as well. A few appeared on RTL chassis as disposal time loomed, providing more roofbox RTLs than the original plan in which RTL 501 carried the only top box. 1427 is now with Pavillion Coaches at Shoreham.
