[Buses in Beijing]长江 Changjiang CJ6110SG2Y7H <CNG> 北京公交集团 BPT #36051 Front-right at Xiyuan Bridge
A type CJ6110SG2Y7H 11m (10,590mm, 34.7 ft.) step-entry, non-air-conditioning CNG double-decker bus built by Changzhou Changjiang (Yangtze River) Bus Co., Ltd., which is now part of Shuguang Automotive Group. The brand "Changjiang" is no longer used.
The bus is powered by a Cummins B5.9-230G 5.9L 230PS (172kW) Euro III CNG engine. The drive train follows the T-drive configuration and the CNG vessels are located above the engine compartment. Both axles are Dongfeng 153 axles with drum brakes and leaf-spring suspensions. All units are re-equipped with Allison transmission and 11R22.5 tubeless tires during overhaul, a project starting in 2007. It took nearly a year to re-equip all 100 units. The forward-facing, straight staircase is located on the driver's side above the rear axle, across from the middle door.
The CJ6110SG2Y7Hs are the oldest active double-decker buses in Beijing. These buses entered service in 2001 and were first CNG-powered double-deckers, together with their Jingling counterparts, JLY6101SACNGs which share the same power train and have undergone the same overhaul. Both models are to be drawn out of service soon since they have been in service for far longer than the 10-year intended service life.
#36051 serves Line T5 (T stands for ”特", used exclusively for lines that are mainly served by double-decker buses), a local route that runs from Xiangquan (Fragrant Springs) Roundabout in northwest semi-urban area of Haidian District to Beijing South Railway Station in Fengtai, a urban and semi-urban district in southern Beijing. Beijing South Railway Station is the north terminal of Beijing-Tianjin Intercity High Speed Railway and Beiijng-Shanghai High Speed Railway (380km/h, 236mph).
All Changjiang double-decker buses on Line T5 were drawn out of service in November 2011 and replaced by Foton AUV type BJ6128C8BCD 12m (12,350mm, 40.5 ft.) low-floor, LNG-powered double-decker buses.
