The "wrong" Jesus Christ

Old field cross in the natural landscape called Plateraux-Hageven situated in north east of Belgium (Limburg - Neerpelt)

This is a special cross because the head of the Christ figure bends over to his left shoulder instead of to the usual right shoulder.

That's why this cross is called in the common laguage "The wrong Jesus Christ"

The cross was erected in 1847 in honour of the finishing of the irrigation works of that area.

On the base of the statue is written "AMDG 1847" which stands for "Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam"

This cross was also a resting point for passing pilgrims
