Morningtime Bark 1/52

Fergus enjoying a happy morning bark, in front of a disintegrating snowman that looks like a Standard Poodle.

My first entry for the "52 Weeks for Dogs" project -- woo-hoo!

And...since this is Fergus's first week in the 52 Weeks for Dogs project, I suppose I should properly introduce him. Fergus is a 5 year old Shetland Sheepdog who didn't know when to stop growing! Sheltie sizes can vary wildly from the breed standard, and Fergus is a prime example. Because of his gargantuanness, his breeder couldn't keep him for show, luckily for us! He's our family's first dog, so we think he's pretty awesome. Which is not to say that we overlook some of his less appealing habits, such as his gleeful BARRRRKING when he's outside, his various neuroses, and his obsessive demand that we follow an exact, regimented schedule each and every day. (He's a stern, but whiney taskmaster.) He loves snoozing in pampered luxury, playing in the snow, playing with soccer balls and frisbees, and tug-of-war. He greatly dislikes car trips, threats of car trips, and people packing which makes him worry about impending car trips.

(A bit nicer, and barkier, On Black.)
