Hired by railroad baron Leland Stanford to prove if a horses hooves left the ground when galloping, in 1872 Edward Muybridge set up a series of camera with trip wires attached to the shutter. As the horse ran through the trip wires, setting off the cameras he recorded what is now a seminal series of shots.
This reminded me of all that .....is all!!! and googles handy too!
