Best Friend
Tucker will be 10 (estimated; he was stray, adopted from a pound) in November. Despite having a lot of arthritis, he's the most happy-go-lucky dog I've ever known. I've been wanting to tell you about Tuck on the morning of August 4 when I had a heart attack. (Doing well now.) It was about 5:30 a.m. and I knew I was in big trouble. I woke Matt and told him I had to go to the hospital and then sat on the side of the bed and called the ambulance. When I hung up, Tucker jumped up on me and pressed his entire weight onto the front of me, standing on both legs and pushing in. He knew what was happening and wanted to help. They really are amazing in their acuity and are definitely our best friends.
