Confirmed spring sighting
This is the 2nd time I see a hummingbird using my feeder, and the third time a hummingbird in my backyard. I was about to give up until yesterday when I saw a hummingbird less than 2 feet away using the feeder. It came across to me as if it had just discovered the feeder and was checking the nectar quality.
Unfortunately for today, my camera setting wasn't done right. so the focus is way off. It also didn't help that this guy is very camera shy.
This hummingbird seems to be small than those from last year. I waited for hours for their returns yesterday and today, but I didn't see their return. Last year all I had to do is to wait 15 to 30 minutes from sighting to sighting.
The impacts from the February feeze is state wide. Don't know what sort of impact it had to these hummingbirds.
