arrow animation tutorial
I created an array of small squres using the shape tool, and filled them all white against a black background. I sent it to image ready, and chhanged the opacity of some of them to give the appearance of an arrow. In other frames, I hid and showed different layers so the arrow points in different directions.

This is already used in the real world. It is used on highways to direct traffic out of construction lanes, changing directions so it can be used in multiple positions. It is used on elevators to indicate its current direction, and can be used in buildings to indicate an escape route or change to show the way to special event.
