Seen at the Shap Granite Quarry, one Saturday in 1992, collecting the Shap Memorial Stone on behalf of the British Commercial Museum, for delivery to the stonemason at Troutbeck Bridge.
We had to take our own fork lift in order to load and, especially, to deliver, hence the fork truck trailer.
For me, having a preserved lorry was all about using it all year round, carrying weight and getting it dirty rather than sitting in a field and having it inspected by judges, sometimes with limited knowledge. Playing out, basically!!
