Stripping the Mast
The Oberhofer's wooden mast from their Vagabond 47 ANNA LYNN had to be removed and prepared for shipment. Rot caused the mast to be a danger so the decision was made to purchase a new aluminum mast. Unfortunately the boat is in Mississippi and the mast company is in St. Petersburg, Florida. We had to remove it from the boat, remove the hardware (to a point). cut it in manageable sections, and load it on the truck. It took all day in cold wind and damp conditions.
