Pepper Box

A beautiful little place near Harriman, Tennessee that the locals call the "Pepper Box".

 

I always thought that the Pepper Box got its name from the sound water makes dripping from 100 to 150 feet onto the rocks in the valley below. I have gone to sleep on many a camp-outs listening to this sound. However, I've recently learned that they used to mine saltpeter in this canyon.

 

The fall colors have once again come to this hidden wonderful land.
