Red Rock Moon

My abstract interpretation of a location I am told is known as Red Rock Quarry near Rosthwaite in the Lake District. I saw a few postings by Hamish Roots and Tim Parkin and decided to try to find this spot myself over the past weekend. The patterns on this rock face are fascinatingly beautiful but I was disappointed to find that people had defaced them by scratching graffiti into the colors. You can make it out in this photo within that patch of red. Sure I could have cloned it away but I chose to leave it in.

Super resolution image made by combining 15 separate exposures using Photoacute. The resulting crop is 24x30in at 300 dpi and displays markedly better color and clarity than a single 5D MK II exposure. Used TS-E 90mm.

Cheers!
