A pretty lacklustre set from Sentinel, one that even at $50 USD feels a bit overpriced to me, the Penni Parker and SP/dr set.
If you don't recall, this character was featured prominently in the first Spiderverse movie, where instead of spider poewrs, Penni built a drone that can has spider like capabilities, and acts as a body guard for Penni herself.
It's a neat concept that could have worked very well as a toy had they done a few things differently, but of course they didn't so here we are.
Starting with the obvious, this is more of a SP//dr figure than a Penni Parker figure, as she's represented by a static piece. A nicely sculpted and painted piece, but a static one nonetheless.
SP//dr requires you to adhere decals, which I am absolutely terrible at, so that's an easy pass.
With regards to the figure itself, the best way of describing it is it feels like I'm playing with one of the Nendoroid bots from Portal. Very light weight, though admittedly there's more colours here and that would add a few bucks, but the MSRP on this set is something like $150 USD, which is insane. The main body has no articulation, with all the articulation in the limbs.
Limbs can be rearranged to form one of two modes, which works alright I guess and replicates the transformation in the movie decently - thank goodness the QC permits the swapping of limbs easily.
Two face plates (angry, smiling) are basically the expressions you're gonna get out of this set. I wish it was literally a programmable LED screen because that would have looked pretty awesome. Instead, you can backlight the faces with LEDS so... win?
