The Pop Up Parade line recently released the second Street Fighter in its entry, Cammy.
For the uninitiated, the Pop Up Parade line is meant for collectors who wanted something for a reasonable price (about $50 CAD) that had the qualities of a true scale statue, but wasn't as poorly made as a Prize Figure.
I'm not sure who sculpts this line up, or if its based on illustrator work, but it's hilarious to me that Chun Li has bigger eyes than Cammy.
Cammy is sculpted in a pretty typical pose for her, one of her win poses if memory serves me correctly
Cammy is of course decked out in her classic outfit, P1 colours, and while her trademark braids are in place. The tussle of hair at the front is something that I've not seen before - it's normally much simpler as opposed to looking like something about of Jojo's Bizarre Adventures.
Speaking of braids, there's some assembly required here. Putting on the braids is kind of pain, as the instructions aren't super clear (it's not even mentioned you can take the head off) and also the QC levels aren't quite good enough for something this precise. The connectors are really small (due to the scale of the statue) and I had to sand off some of the excess paint inorder to expose the connector.
From a physicality perspective, I'm not entirely sure but I suspect Cammy is actually slightly shorter than Chun Li, which is why there's an appreciable height difference between the two. Furthermore, I like how Cammy has more muscle definition than Chun Li, trained soldier and all that. Braid and hair are well detailed considered the size. Paint is also nice and sharp, though the buckles aren't quite as good as I'd like. Finishing on the actual figure is good as well, with no obvious artifacts of seam lines to deal with.
All-in-all, another great entry into this middle of the road line. I just wish I could time things correctly so I didn't end up shipping one of them at a time, because if anything, THAT'S what hurts the most.
