75/365: This device is an Eierschalensollbruchstellenverursacher....loosely translated as an egg shell cracking device. Leave it to the Germans to come up with a cool device that cracks just the top of an egg shell to make it easy to remove it from soft-boiled eggs. To use, you place it on the egg, lift the stainless steel ball to the top and let it drop. It makes a perfect crack just around the top of the egg that can be removed with a knife. I love soft-boiled eggs and got used to having them when my German host mom used to make them for me. We actually bought this device in New Zealand at a B&B that was run by a Swiss couple, who also made lovely soft-boiled eggs each morning (and let us use this device). Naturally, I needed one for myself :)
