The last day of the project...
365 days and a few more than 365 photos...
For the last photo, I thought it would be good to post the top 3 questions I've been asked about the project this year along with their answers:
1. Is it hard to come up with a photo every single day?
Yes, there were days that were definitely harder than others. Just ask William...there were many days when I said to him, "what am I going to take a picture of today?" But, that was part of the challenge. As I'm sure you've noticed, some of the photos weren't the most awesome as far as photographic merit, but they had a good story. So, frankly, sometimes, it was more about the story.
2. Are you going to get the photos printed in a book?
That is the plan! I would like to have the stories printed too (or at least a "Reader's Digest" version of some of the stories). I think I have found a good resource to do this, but knowing me, it will take all of 2014 before I get it done :)
3. Are you going to keep doing the project in 2014?
As the year has drawn to an end, this has become the most frequently asked question I've gotten. There are so many of you who have told me how much you've loved seeing the photos and reading the stories each day, and you will never know how much I appreciate that! Your likes, comments, and favorites throughout the year have kept me going with the project. Originally, I set out on this project both as a personal challenge and as a way of documenting/appreciating where all of my work travels have taken me. I had no idea that it would be so well-loved and well-received. All of that being said, I am planning something with a similar feel but a little different for 2014. Those who know me well know that I like to always have a new challenge. One thing I'd like to do more is blog. So, for 2014, instead of doing a "picture of the day," I'm going to do a "blog of the week." Every week, there will be a new blog post (52 total for the year). I already have about 15 blog posts planned, including some tutorials and other fun things. Naturally, as part of the blogging process, there will be pictures, and of course, I'll continue to post pictures here - just maybe not every day. For reference, here's where you can find my blog (severely neglected and being redesigned as I write this). I hope that you'll enjoy this project just as much, and thank you again for all of your support this year!!
