MM1: Quercus cerris, Cerro, Cerris, hrast Cer

Maximum height: generally up to 12-18m, exceptionally up to 30-35m

 

Habitat (natural reproduction): similar to that of Q. pubescens, but it is suitable for colder climates and richer soils. So it going up to 1100m of altitude (the maximum in Quercus family) in both Coastal and Internal Karst (southern slopes).

 

Spread On The Territory: everywhere except Abies Alba/Picea forests.

 

Distinctive features: the lobes of the leaves are very sharp

 

 

Many enormous and beautiful Quercus Cerris are present on the basin of Percedol (near Opicina, Trieste Karst)
