Al-Mezquita (Masjid-e-Qurtaba) Cordoba- Spain

This picture shows the horse-shoe arches that were a signature effect of the Syrian Architecture. Note the dark colored marble columns that were chosen to give the effect of a glowing warm fire in the mosque to counter the cold winters. This mosque is now a cathedral.
