Collapsing Church

The bell tower on St. Olaf church in North Dakota has been slowly collapsing over the past few years. St. Olaf Church, is one of the state’s classic abandoned prairie churches—built by early Scandinavian settlers and long central to the surrounding farming community. After the congregation dwindled and services ended, the wooden structure was left to the elements, its steeple and siding weathering into the iconic, timeworn look it has today.
