Daimler 'battleship'

The purpose of today's day out was really to attend the 'Alf Tunstall' memorial bus rally. 'Berresfordsmotors' and I took a bus each, though only one of the pair we'd intended taking. Due to a breakdown in communication, and shortage of time to collect it from it's new storage location, we had to substitute Steve Morris's Daimler CVG6 for our pseudo Berresford AEC Swift. If ever there was a near bomb proof bus, it must be this! The Roe bodied CVG6 sits on the road like a piece of lead, going everywhere in an un ruffled manner, but slowly. The ex Leeds City Transport bus, 572 CNW, now wearing a brighter colour scheme inspired by neighbouring Huddersfield, is seen descending from the North Staffs hill top village of Kingsley en-route home. The weather was still deplorable, but the sign on the end of the terrace to the left proclaims 'sunny side'!
