Chester City Transport, ex Merthyr Tydfil S/D Dominator
Further to 'Lady Wulfrun's' posting of one of this small batch of buses in service with it's original operator, Merthyr Tydfil, here's sister bus GCK 215V in service with Chester City Transport. Like the bus it was intended to be a substitute for, Daimler's Fleetline, the Dennis Dominator double decker was also available as a single deck. When used as such, the bus suffered similar stress problems to the product which it was emulating. Chester at one time had quite a fleet of Dominators, some bought new, and some which it had acquired second hand. Shortly afterwards, their loyalty drifted to Leyland's Olympian. The bodywork on this example was by Marshall of Cambridge.
