All the Flowers are For Me (Red)

Laser-cut lacquered stainless steel and halogen light, 2016. A steel cube is suspended at the center of the gallery. Patterns from medieval Persian textiles echo in light and shadow, extending across every surface including the bodies of those who circle the gallery. The glowing red patterns reference the color traditionally worn by South Asian women for their weddings. Although women are often marginalized worldwide, Agha places them at the center of this installation and her work.
