someone is crying from an upstairs window as I squat on the lawn and stare at the moon and the wind wooshes in and out of the branches and I think it is the girl who lives above me in the old house who I used to hear having very much sex and now is pregnant, I think. She is wailing and moaning and crying very hard and it could be for any reason, I suppose. But now, in the darkness, her sex partner is not there and it is just her and me and it is a very sad sound so I leave when I am done with my cigarette. Smoking is bad for you.
