At the perimeter of the early 20th Century city stood proud, simple and embelished houses on a quiet street; no store or traffic in sight. Most people walked to destinations.
Fifty years on as the traffic increased and rendered the street less desirable for living, the houses transformed to a variety of uses. Inadvertantly the neighbourhood become walkable and mixed use. Presto, urbanism emerged!
