Step One
Assemble your materials. You will need one styrofoam head per puppet, some liquid starch or your papier måché paste of choice, some card stock or railroad board stiff enough that you can press it into the styrofoam without bending, and construction paper in an assortment of colors. You will also need paint brushes for applying starch/paste and later will want fabric scraps for puppet bodies. Optional items include mat board and any material that can be stuck into the cardboard and pasted over (halves of plastic easter eggs for noses or foil antennae, for example). If you choose to also make your puppet a rod puppet, you'll also want chopsticks or dowels to work the arms.
