Wide awake at 0500hrs meant I was staring at the ceiling on a week end break.
Dogs have always been part of my life and there staring down at me from the oak beam of an old ceiling was the face of a spaniel.
A close examination shows that the grain forms the light and shadow of this portrait.
A pleasant surprise to find at this time of the morning in such an old house but I just had to get the camera out to capture such unusual grain and texture.
