This produce receipt is one of two that I recently purchased. It is from the Asylum For the Chronic Insane in Worcester, Massachusetts which would be later known as Worcester State Hospital. The receipt is from 1885 and documents the paying of $38 to J.W. Plaisted & Co. It contains the authorization stamp of the Asylum Auditor and the signature of the Asylum officials.
