We knew from the beginning that we wanted to include Nick's cousin in some way, because Nick was the ring-bearer at his aunt and uncle's wedding when he was about the same age. It looked for a time like we wouldn't be able to, when we decided not to have a ring-bearer or flower girl. But then Nick's dad had to have emergency surgery the week before the wedding and wasn't released until the week after. Kristopher kindly stood in for Nick's dad at the last minute, and did a great job as the "Father" of the groom =)
