Next, longitudinals were made and pop riveted to the top hoop assembly and marked for drilling of a bolt hole.

The initial plan was to be able to disassemble the rack at this point. However, as you will see shortly, that changed to a single one piece unit, much stronger and more pleasing to the eye.
