When 2Pac & Biggie died, questions were who was going to take the throne? Well two stepped up to the plate, Jay-Z & a underground battle rapper named DMX. Both men signed to Def Jam Records in 1997. The next year both top the album charts. While Jay-Z made radio hits to get to the top of the charts, DMX gritty dark angry rhymes top the charts by not going to the mainstream, the mainstream went to him. With six No.1 albums & movies along with awards, X had the world in his hands. But he had one big problem, he couldn't shake the drugs, a problem he had when an adult gave him a joint that was laced with crack lead him to a drug addiction that had sadly stayed with him till his untimely death when someone gave him tainted cocaine that finally killed him. What a fucking lost. I wish he would had took his words from his song "Slippin" close to his heart. Rest In Paradise DMX.
