Lacewing egg

The strange projection from the leaf was later identified as the egg of a Lacewing.

Here is the egg at high magnification (x 400). Segmentation of the larva inside is just visible, as is a large yellow area. Could this be the egg's equivalent of a yold sac ? The surface of this egg is both smooth and transparent.

 

Done
